U.S. Senator Ben Sasse, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, issued the following statement after Iran was removed from the United Nation’s women’s rights commission by a 29-8 vote.?
“This is good news and the Biden Administration deserves credit, but here’s the real story: China and Russia – remorseless innovators in genocide and human rights abuses – voted to keep Iran’s bloodthirsty misogynists on the women’s rights panel. These killers – Chairman Xi’s henchmen, Vladimir Putin’s oligarchs, and Ayatollah Khamenei’s morality police – have no regard for human dignity. It’s great that Iran isn’t on this one panel, now throw the rest of these blood-soaked tyrants to the curb.”
